GIMINGHAM BOW OUT AFTER FINE RUN

The League’s remaining involvement in the County Cups ties ended when Gimingham’s fine run in the Junior Cup came to an end when at home to Harleston they lost out by  a  2-1 margin after extra time (Wayne Cutting) with the scores level at one apiece after ninety minutes at the quarter final stage.  However, they have done the league proud.

In the Slater & Firth Division One, leaders Coltishall were 6-1 winners at home to Horning, second placed Runton surrendered three more home points when they entertained Haisboro Athletic and lost 3-1, North Walsham ‘A’ were odd goal winners of five at home to East Ruston whilst Aldborough Lions and Ludham shared the points in a dour 1-1 draw.

Mundesley march on at the top of Wayford Nurseries Division Two with another 4-0 home win, this time over Corpusty Res, Erpingham were 4-0 winners over Buxton Res.  Cawston were involved in a high scoring encounter with visitors Blakeney and it was the home side that finally ran out 7-4 winners.  Hickling started off the New Year with a 5-2 home win over Aldborough Lion Res  and Holt ‘A’ also recorded a comfortable home win, 4-1 over visitors Gimingham Res

Glaven Valley moved level on points at the top of the Knights Trophies Division Three following their narrow 2-1 win over visitors Trunch, East Ruston Res were amongst the goals for once when at home to Coltishall Res, they recorded a 9-3 win, Mundesley Res also had their shooting boots on hitting the net five times with their visitors Holt Colts replying once.
